UTE ROAD TRIP: THE LONG AND WINDING ROAD

Once a Ute, always a Ute.
At least that’s the case with ex-linebacker Spencer Toone (2003-05), who is en route to New Orleans ‘ the long way.
Toone, friend Bryan Nordhoff, of Sandy, and seven others are driving an RV from Salt Lake to see the Sugar Bowl.
If you’ve never been a fan ‘- a really big fan — you wouldn’t understand.
The group is traveling straight through (other than pit stops), trading driving duties — all 1,788 miles (approximately 28 hours). After Friday’s game, they plan to travel immediately back home.
Estimated budget per person: $200-$300.
Nordhoff said he made a similar long-haul trip to Florida for a friend’s graduation.
‘We’ve done dumb things like this before,’ said Nordhoff.
