Leading the BCS Charge
BYU plays Florida State, this weekend, and Utah plays at Oregon. Both are major games for their programs.
That’s because the national media is now talking not just of BCS bowl possibilities, but of possible national championships, as well.
The Cougars, ranked No. 7, are obviously the non-qualifying darling of the national media this year – rightfully so. But undefeated Utah hasn’t been discounted yet. In fact, some consider the 18th-ranked Utes a bigger BCS threat than No. 10 Boise State.
An ESPN discussion, this week, talked about how much a win over Oregon would mean for the Utes. Due to strength of schedule, the line of thinking is that Utah has a better BCS shot than Boise State, should BYU slip up. ESPN.com
