Max Confidence
Confidence has never been a problem for former BYU quarterback Max Hall and that continues to be the case.
The Arizona Cardinals rookie is back to talking the talk. He’s not trashing Utah fans, but his mantra is really a similar speech to what he gave when he took over for John Beck at BYU: Everyone doubts him but he’s always proven them wrong.
This time it was an article on KTAR.com in Phoenix.
“People can say whatever they want,” Hall said to KTAR’s Tyler Bassett. “They’ve been doubting me, my height, and my size my whole life. There are plenty of guys that are shorter guys and have had a lot of success and one of them just won a Super Bowl.
“I’m just going to worry about myself and keep getting better. I know I can play in this league, I know I have the mind for it, the personality for it. I’m going to keep working at it and I think I’m going to be successful one day.”
Hall’s confidence reminds me of talking to a former BYU teammate about Hall. When I asked whether Hall ever regretted saying he hated the University of Utah and everyone associated with it, he said, “I don’t think Max was worried about it. He just says what he thinks.”
And now Hall thinks he’s going to make in the NFL.
That sort of approach has worked so far.
