Magical NFL plans

So the Magic Man wants the NFL in Los Angeles.

Who does he think he is?

Oh, right. The Magic Man.

An Associated Press story is saying Magic Johnson wants pro football to return to L.A. You might tend to write that off as another Hollywood ego trip. Isn’t that what Hollywood types do – they spout opinions as if they matter, on subjects where they have no expertise?

But Johnson is a different deal. They said he would dwindle when he became HIV positive, but he kept playing. They said he was a ballplayer, not a businessman, after he retired, yet he built an empire.

So when Johnson says he’d like pro football in L.A., I’m going to pay attention.

The man has magic.

Not to mention the nation’s second-largest TV market.
