Random Utah, BYU Bowl predictions
I don’t consider Bleacher Report a great source for news. I never know who its writers are, except to say that it’s never someone I know from the journalism business.
Still, someone named Amy Daughters has come out with an early, EARLY list of bowl predictions, and she has BYU playing Pitt in the Pinstripe Bowl next year and Utah playing Maryland in the Sun Bowl.
Here’s my take: Good on BYU’s bowl speculation, eh on Utah’s.
I base my bowl preferences on destination. New York is never a bad trip. OK, there’s no palm trees — and I’d hate to think my first trip to Yankee Stadium might be for football.
Still.
El Paso for the Utes? Better than Shreveport, I guess.
Among the places Pac-12 schools (including Utah) could wind up: Holiday Bowl (San Diego), Las Vegas Bowl, Fiesta Bowl (Tempe), Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl (San Francisco), Alamo Bowl (San Antonio) and, of course, Rose Bowl (Pasadena).

As I said, I root for destinations, not teams.
