Florida ((duh!) supports honor code enforcement
BILLY DONOVAN
The Brandon Davies suspension continues to be a subject of fascination to the national media, as BYU prepares to play Florida in the Sweet 16 Thursday.
Asked by a reporter “how shocked were you” that Davies was dismissed for violating the honor code, Gators player Chandler Parsons replied, “I mean, rules are rules, so he knew what he was doing. I mean, it’s something that we can’t worry about really because he’s not playing in the game and that’s really none of my business.”
When a reporter asked Billy Donovan “How hard would it be to recruit to Florida if you had to tell your recruits you can’t have premarital sex if you come to Florida?” the Gator coach said: “I’m not going to get into that. I mean, I don’t know. First of all, I don’t really talk about any of that stuff, either. I’ll pass on that one.”
It does appear Florida players and coaches think BYU did the right thing to enforce its honor code on Davies. I figure Florida would be in favor of any rule that would eliminate the opposition’s starting center, but what do I know?
