Former Ute Erroll Tucker Revisited

I’ll always remember Erroll Tucker. But seeing this video reminded me how good he actually was.

I covered the Ute return man back/DB in the ’80s for the Deseret News. Whenever teammates would see him scoring a touchdown on the TV highlights, or in a film sessions, they’d call out, “Tuck-dawg!”

He apparently stayed a Utah fan after leaving college. I saw him in the locker room after the Utes’ Freedom Bowl win over Arizona in 1994l. He had a wide smile on his face, said he was thrilled for his former team.

I have to believe he would have had a nice pro career, had injury not cut it short.

By the way, I also enjoyed the look at “Wildcat” Carl Arky and the late, great Bill Howard.
