UCLA coach admits being on hot seat
You’ve got to give it to UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel, he didn’t dodge any questions during Pac-12 media day.
Asked about his status as a coach, Neuheisel admitted he was surprised at how long it has taken to get the Bruins turned around. He added, “I’m excited to be here. As a coach on the proverbial hot seat, I guess you’re excited to be invited to any of these things.”
Neuheisel added that when he was coaching at Colorado in 1995, the possibility of Texas and Colorado joining the Pac-10 arose. Approached about the possibility by officials at the Boulder school, he said he was “probably not the best person to ask, I was so gun-ho about it.”
Fifteen years later it has come full circle. Neuheisel is coaching in what he called his “dream job.”
And Colorado is finally in the Pac.
