Ostertag a COACH?
I don’t know how this got by me, don’t know why someone didn’t immediately notify me, but here it is: Greg Ostertag could be back in hoops.
One of my all-time favorite Rock On subjects could be providing a whole new treasure trove of material.
The chance may already have come and gone, but a couple of weeks ago the news broke that the former Jazz center was up for consideration as a member of the NBDL’s Texas Legends, as a player and/or assistant coach.
I’m speechless.
OK, I’m not.
‘Tag was just goofy enough to give me more than one column idea and even more Rock On items.
But honestly. A COACH?
Isn’t this the guy Jerry Sloan banished to the locker room for insubordination? The guy who got slapped to the ground after mouthing off to Shaq during a shoot-around? Who lost his false teeth during a game?
I can only wonder what material he might provide me as a coach.
All I can say is if ‘Tag actually became a coach, I would want to be there for the season opener.
Good luck, ‘Tag.
From a self-serving standpoint, I’m pulling for you to make it all the way to the NBA.
