1992 or 2012 Dream Team?

I thought I had lost interest in the NBA for awhile. After the Stockton-Malone-Jordan-Pippen-Barkley era passed, I had a hard time getting on board.

But with the addition of young players like Kevin Durant and Derrick Rose, I’m back. Add them to the Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Kobe Bryant and, well, you have a dreamy team.

How dreamy?

It’s drawing comparisons with the original Dream Team. You know that team. The 1992 Olympic team that included the aforementioned Hall of Famers, as well as Patrick Ewing, Larry Bird and Magic Johnson.

Now James is saying his group could be compared to the original. And I have to say, he has a point.

I’d still go with the original Dream Team if they met, merely because some of today’s stars still don’t have a lot of experience. The Magics, Birds, Malones and Jordans of 1992 would have prevailed over the team of 2012 that is still learning on the fly. (I have to say I like Wade’s humility in deferring to the ’92 team.)

Which team would you take? Why?
